For the purpose of suitability validation of the approach to dissipate heat from aircraft avionics by the loop heat pipes,the available heat sinks for rejected condenser heat of loop heat pipe were discussed in this paper.The potential for using the aircraft wings skin as a heat sink of the loop heat pipe condenser was proposed.An analysis of the heat transfer for an aircraft wing skin was performed.The aircraft wing inner skin temperature for the entire mission envelope was predicted to determine heat sink temperature range of the loop heat pipe condenser.Theoretical calculations reveal that dissipating heat from the aircraft skin using a loop heat pipe between the avionics package and the aircraft skin is a possible thermal management technique.
