Detailed and reduced chemical kinetic mechanisms for RP-3 aviation kerosene combustion

  • A detailed chemical kinetic mechanism containing 109 species and 946 elementary reactions for kerosene combustion was developed.With the use of quasi-stationary state approximation(QSSA) method,a reduced chemical kinetic mechanism including 22 species and 18 global reactions was obtained from the detailed kinetics.By comparing the reduced mechanisms with the typical experimental results and reference results,high precision of the reduced mechanisms is shown,which can be used to represent the ignition characteristic of RP-3 aviation kerosene fuel,and also simulate accurately the combustion of kerosene.
