Evaluation method on whole engine structural design——structural efficiency

  • An evaluation method named structural efficiency was presented to quantify the benefit of whole engine structures according to the dynamics.The meaning of structural efficiency encompasses engine strength,modal participation and deformation coordination synthetically.Further corresponding elementary numerical method was given.The advantages of structural efficiency on whole engine design were obtained through a rotor/supporting structural optimization case.Besides,the research prospects and research emphases were discussed in detail.
