The approaches of mechanics of both materials and structures were applied to analyze the bearing capacity of an inflatable wing.The criterions of failure were established on the basis of engineering requirements and characteristics of inflatable structure.A mechanical model was presented and proved reasonable by a test.Aerodynamic performance simulation analysis was made for the aerodynamic performance of inflatable wing using FLUENT 6.3,and was compared with the ideal airfoil.Then,the simulated aerodynamic load on the inflatable wing in flying was introduced into Patran,and the stress and deformation was analyzed by infinite element method.
