Numerical investigation on heat transfer mechanism of impingement jet with cross-flow

  • Numeration analysis was made to simulate the influence induced by upstream jet on downstream jets in impingement chamber.The results shows that,(1) As the cross-flow increases,the heat transfer efficiency on the impinged surface changes in a very complicated way.(2) Cross-flow influences the heat transfer of the impinged surface mainly in two aspects:as the cross-flow Reynolds number increases,the strength of stretched vortex pair downstream of the jet firstly increases and then decreases,resulting in the same influence on the heat transfer of the target surface;the deviation of the impinging jet induced by cross-flow makes the high heat transfer zone move backward. (3) As cross-flow increases,the heat transfer efficiency induced by impingement and cross-flow changes,making the heat transfer on the target surface more complicated.
