Effects of sheltering baffles on the infrared radiation characteristics of two-dimensional nozzles

  • The non-axis-symmetric circular-to-rectangular nozzle is capable of suppressing the infrared radiation signature with less performance loss compared to axis-symmetric nozzle.This paper researched the effects of different sheltering baffle structures on the infrared radiation suppression of the two-dimensional nozzle with aspect ratio 3.33 by computational fluid dynamics/infrared radiation (CFD/IR) numerical simulation.The investigation shows that the double-sheltering baffles with film slots on the upper sheltering baffle have more obvious infrared radiation suppression effect.
