Investigation of mode transition in a dual mode supersonic combustor with hydrogen fuel

  • To investigate the mode transition in the dual mode combustor,using the method of computational fluid dynamics(CFD),numerical simulation of hydrogen-fueled combustor flow field was conducted at different equivalence ratios,flying Mach numbers and fuel injection modes.The simulation results are found to agree well with the experimental data.Results show that increase of equivalence ratio and reduction of flying Mach number along with two-sides injection make the combustor tend to work in sub-combustion mode.
