Pressure drop characteristics of supercritical aviation kerosene in U-turn tube

  • The flowing characteristics of aviation kerosene at supercritical pressure flowing through a U-turn tube were investigated.The pressure and temperature were analyzed to evaluate their effectiveness on the pressure drop.The results indicate that,when the temperature of the fuel at the outlet is below the critical temperature,the pressure drop does not change with the increase of the temperature of the fuel,but increases with the rising pressure;when it is above the critical temperature,the pressure drop increases with the increasing temperature,and decreases with the increasing of pressure.The slope of pressure drop with temperature increases near the pseudo-critical temperature.Furthermore,a relation-formal was proposed to predict the pressure drop when hydrocarbon fuel flowed through a U-turn tube at supercritical pressure.
