Faults analysis and solution in ground operation of a micro turbojet engine

  • Based on series of ground operations of a newly designed micro turbojet engine,this paper presented the establishment of engine structure,process of test rig,configurations of measure system,confirmation of engine running plan,and put stress on analyzing the reasons of all the faulty phenomena met in engine operations and their solutions.These phenomena include ignition reliability,flame localization behind the nozzle too much,speed hang-up,rubbing faults between rotor and stator,cracks of welding sews of wing fender in the nozzle,failure of bearing in the side of turbine because of thermal instability,engine surge and debugging of electronic-control programs.The ground operation results show that reducing thermal load of the bearing in the side of turbine,improving mechanical characteristics of the compressor impeller's materials made in China,and promoting manufacturing level are main missions to be finished so far in the design of micro turbojet engine,and other faults stated in the paper can be overcome by appropriate methods.
