Two-dimensional numerical simulation of a turbofan engine with air bleeding in compressor

  • To assess the fan,compressor and whole engine performance of a turbofan engine on 0 km and 21 km operating conditions,considering air bleeding in compressor,an aero-engine S2 stream-surface flow simulation software (AES-S2) was used.AES-S2 numerical simulation model consists of two-dimensional Euler equation,combustion model and loss model.A body fitted coordinate system was used to adapt the complex geometric boundaries.The implicit higher-order Godunov scheme has the characteristic of shock capturing and good numerical stability.Simulation results show that:AES-S2 runs with favorable stability and convergence speed;the simulation precision of fan and compressor is higher than that of engine;two-dimensional simulation of engine can provide a reliable matching performance with acceptable engineering precision.
