Heat transfer measurements of turn-over channel in turbine blade

  • An experiment was performed on a facility with ribbed turn-over channel built based on the inner structure of the real turbine blade.A transient liquid crystal was used to measure the heat transfer coefficients of three channels in turbine blade.The influences of Reynolds number and different outlet discharge ratios on the heat transfer of the ribbed walls were studied on the premise that the channel area changes continually.The experiment results show that:the average Nusselt number for the channel increases with the inlet Reynolds number when the outlets discharge ratio is fixed.With the fixed inlet Reynolds number,the average heat transfer of the channel is best when three outlet discharge ratios are 0%,75% and 25%,respectively.Also,the ribs in the corners can significantly enhance the heat transfer.
