Electro-impulse de-icing (EIDI) technology study

  • The electro-impulse de-icing (EIDI) system was decomposed into four processes, and then its work theory was analyzed. The research methods and results in the field of electrodynamics were introduced, by taking the impacting pendulum test and Bernhart-Schrag model as an example. The feature of structural dynamics generated by pulse power was analyzed through the parameters of acceleration, strain and vibration displacement on the skin surface. A criterion of de-icing forecast was proposed, by making use of the strain on the skin surface. The experimental results in engineering applications were summarized including flight test, fatigue test and electromagnetic interference test. And on this basis, the development direction of the EIDI technology was prospected.
