Numerical study on mixing enhancement of lobed injector

  • The mixing characteristics of two different kinds of fluids with non-reaction in the lobed injector were numerically studied by using FLUENT CFD(computational fluid dynamics) software. The primary flow (CO2) was injected from the lobed slot between two corrugated plates, and then mixed with the coflowing secondary flow (air) in the mixing duct. The velocity fields, streamwise vortice structures and species distribution were obtained to analyze the effects of lobed injector parameters on the circulation intensity of streamwise vortices. The streamwise vortices induced by the lobed injector are helpful to improve the mixing efficiency of the two coflowing fluids, and make the species distribution more uniform.
