Experimental investigation on improved piezoelectric synthetic jet actuator of geometric parameters

  • A novel piezoelectric synthetic jet actuator was studied experimentally.The velocities of outflows were detected by hotwire anemometer.The frequency responses of time-average velocity and maximum velocity during one period were obtained.The results show that:in the region of low frequency,the time-average velocity and maximum velocity decrease monotonically;in the region of high frequency,the maximum velocity is affected by geometric parameters of the actuator evidently.And there is an optimum geometric size for the actuator to obtain the maximum peak velocity during the high frequency region.
