Effect of stator-rotor blade row axial spacing on transonic axial compressor performance

  • The steady flow field of stator-rotor blade rows has been numerically simulated,and the computational results show the far axial spacing between blade rows can improve compressor efficiency near the choked mass flow,and the efficiency does not matter with the axial spacing at high loading.The numerical simulation results of unsteady flow field show the close axial spacing can enlarge the interaction of rotor shock on the stator boundary layer and more efficiently suppress the rotor tip double-leakage at high loading which can cause tip blockage and loss.
