Three-dimensional simulation and analysis of five-stage low pressure turbine

  • In order to understand the five-stage LPT(low pressure turbine) aerodynamic design characteristic,full three-dimensional simulation of the five-stage LPT was conducted by the CFD(computational fluid dynamics) software CFX12.0.Three-dimensional Reynolds averaged N-S(Navier-Stokes) equations with SST (shear stress transport) turbulence model were used to predict the LPT internal flow.The results were compared with the experimental data.It is proved that the turbine blades are all designed by fore-loaded or uniform-loaded,and the CFX has high precision on simulating aerodynamic flowfield.Besides,the results provide some references for civil aerial-engine turbine design.
