Reduced mechanism for oxygen/methane combustion based on sensitivity analysis

  • To investigate the oxygen/methane combustion in liquid rocket engine,a new set of reduced mechanism was developed for oxygen/methane based on sensitivity analysis.The reduced mechanism was then used in perfectly stirred reactor (PSR) of CHEMKIN 4. 1. The results show that the proposed kinetic mechanism shows good concordances with the detailed mechanism in the prediction of equilibrium temperature and major components concentration.The proposed reduced mechanism well reflects the oxygen/methane combustion in a wide range,laying the foundation for further efficient and accurate study of methane in the combustion chamber flow field.
