Three-dimensional aerodynamic optimization of intermediate stator of 7-stage axial compressor

  • To solve the conflict between stage-matching and computational cost during the 3-D(three-dimensional) aerodynamic optimization of multi-stage axial compressor,an optimization strategy was proposed,in which the stage to be optimized was simulated instead of the whole multi-stage compressor,while the stage environment was taken into account in the boundary conditions.The 4th stator with suction separation of a highly loaded 7-stage axial compressor has been optimized.Within the limited time,the adiabatic efficiency was improved about 0.8%,the total pressure ratio was improved about 4%,and the overall performance of the compressor was improved effectively.It is proved that the stage-matching and computational cost aer well balanced by this optimization strategy.
