PIV measurement of flow field for tip clearance flow in turbine shroud

  • In order to study flow characteristics of tip clearance flow in turbine shroud,a cooling experimental system was designed,and the instantaneous flow field of each typical section was received by particle image velocimetry(PIV).Then the flow field characteristics of tip clearance flow were studied.The result shows:two cooling flows of the turbine shroud cavity mixing with tip leakage flow makes the flow state in shroud cavity very complex.Therefore,vortex flows with different functions and sizes are generated at different positions in shroud cavity.Meanwhile,both the two cooling airflows have blocking effect on the leakage flow,and the effect from the former hole is more obvious.
