Experiments of plasma assisted combustion's effect on combustion products

  • Experiments of plasma assisted combustion (PAC) in propane-air mixtures were conducted.The plasma was produced by dielectric barrier discharges (DBD), and the emission spectrums of air and propane-air mixture were tested respectively.The variation of O2 and CO volume fractions with time was measured using the gas analyzer.The effect of discharge voltage,air flow and propane flow on combustion products were analyzed and discussed.The results show that in PAC,the variation rates of O2 and CO volume fractions increase compared to that in normal combustion,and the combustion efficiency enhances in stable combustion due to the decrease of O2 and CO volume fractions;increasing air flow and propane flowand decreasing discharge voltage can weaken the effects of PAC.
