Numerical simulation of flow and heat transfer performances in a direct transfer pre-swirl system

  • In order to investigate the flow and heat transfer performances in a direct transfer pre-swirl system ,a numerical study was conducted by using CFD commercial software FLUENT with dimensional model and turbulence model respectively.Through the comparison,the following conclusions can be drawn:flow of the lower cavity is determined by the central inflow,and the two-dimensional computation does not reflect mixing of the central inflow and pre-swirl inflow in the higher cavity.Pressure distribution of the two- and three-dimensional computation is similar,and the measurements are within the two results;the heat transfer of the main disk is determined by the central inflow,the two- and three-dimensional computation is almost identical,and heat transfer results of Realizable k-ε turbulence model are mainly good with the measurements qualitatively and quantitatively.
