Motor power selection and economic analysis of more electric environmental control system

  • A computation model of parameters matching for more electric aircraft environmental control system was proposed to determine the value of motor power under different flight conditions.The influential factors to the selection of motor power and the economy of system were analyzed.The results show that the motor power increases with the flight altitude,and decreases with the Mach number at the same altitude,in terms of a definite air supply pressure.For a given flight condition,a higher air supply pressure will lead to a higher motor power.The performance penalty of more electric environment control system will be smaller than that of traditional environment control system and a longer flight time will bring a better economic benefits,under the same air supply pressure and flight condition.
