Abstract:
The Domain Decomposition Method (DDM) is applied to calculation of turbulent flow fields.A general DDM-1 scheme S
I,ω is developed for turbulence equations with treatment of variables in overlapped domains. It features that the whole computational domain is decomposed into several subdomains according to the flow properties and the different decomposed domains employ corresponding physical models.A prediction of turbulent flow fields in a sudden pipe expansion was made and compared with the experimental data.It was shown that the scheme can predict the reattachment point, mean axial velocity and turbulence kinetic energy more accurately than the methods using a single model in entire domain.
