Abstract:
Based on steady Euler solver developed by the author,a new time accurate Euler solver is modified to study Rotor/Stator interaction problems.The inviscid flow field of a highly loaded transonic fan stage is simulated by this time accurate method.The results indicate that rotor inlet flow fields are not affected by the downstream stator at choke condition,but the shock in the rotor will oscillate periodically.Moreover the stator will operate at highly varying incident angle.The method can be easily extended to viscous unsteady flow research in axial turbomachines.
