Abstract:
The round-jet/plane-jet anomaly remains as a long unsolved problem in turbulence, and it is the touchstone of a turbulence model of differential equations. In this paper, axisymmetric round-jet is numerically simulated with GAO YONG turbulence model. The calculation successfully simulates the flow and predicts a spreading rate of 0.086,which is close to the measured range of 0.086 to 0.093 and thus solves the round-jet/plane-jet anomaly problem. All the results further verify the adaptability and generality of the equations to real turbulent flow.
