Abstract:
The unsteady 3-D flow fields in a transonic compressor at design point were simulated numerically to study the effect of the bowed and swept rotors on rotor wake fluctuation intensity and transportation progress. The results show that,as compared to the baseline, all three types of bowed or swept rotors weaken the fluctuation intensity of tip leakage vortex and the top fluctuation core of wake at rotor outlet, thus quickening the dissipation during downstream transportation and helping to reduce the unsteady disturbance on the top of stator. The fluctuation intensity of the middle part of swept or bowed rotor wake increases to some extent, and the middle-part low energy fluid of rotor wake intends to move downwards during transportation,so the stator is disturbed stronger at mid-span and near hub.
